September 3rd, 2024: This past weekend I drove the vehicle to Orange County and there seems to be a slight vibration coming from the steering wheel and while it is mild it will be something I will keep my eye on but for the most part the ride was nice and I am learning to control all aspects of the vehicle which is making me like the VF8 more – I am having some issues charging the vehicle during the connection process and it takes great patience to get it to work at the EvGo Charge Stations but once it started it works well and the cost does me have me a bit concerned as I have been using a 50kw DC Charger Station and on 09/01 I charged the vehicle with 51.1300 kWh and the cost was $28.12 when I calculated the distance I would get for this money it seemed to exceed what I would pay for same distance on my 2012 VW GTI, Could it be my driving style that is making me burn the battery up so fast? So, the following day I decided to drive strictly on ECO mode and I also turned off the Regenerative Braking during the city usage and it seems my Battery % is lasting a bit longer. Only time will tell if can get more miles from ECO and turning off Regenerative Braking. I will keep you posted. I also noticed this weekend that the car does not have the Wash Mode Active as it is noted in the manual so that sucks and I also do not see Automated Parking Assist Active as well as the manual states.
August 30th 2024: I have had he VF8 now for 3 days and there has been no big issues. It took a bit of work to fully understand the “On Screen Software” but it works very well and I have no nothing but positive feedback from others that have looked at it close up and also drove it. I was missing a Tow Rod Cover on the front bumper but Christian Bustamante from Vinfast acquired me one on the same day I mentioned it. small micro issue is that this car has not Garage Door buttons so I have to use my remote which fits nicely in the drivers side dash pop out door. I am starting to really like this vehicle. 🙂
Auugust 28th, 2024: Today I charged the vehicle at a level 3 Charger EvGo and the first location I went to the Charger did not want to work so I went to another location and it took a while to make it work as I kept getting errors from the charging machine and also inside the car that I needed to remove the plug and reinstall it.. after several attempts it started working and I charged the car from 60% to 87% and the cost was $6.20
Side Note: The first location I went to that did not work had Credit Card Skimmers installed and as a result I was robbed $100.00 on my Credit Card. I promptly called Amercian Express and they cancelled my card and will refund the money after their investigation. So I ordered a EvGo card so I wont have to use my Amercian Express moving forward.
August 27th Delivery: The Delivery was simple and easy as I just showed up and paid for the Tax & License Fee – Christian Bustamante was there to deliver the car to me and again he was very helpful.
August 24th, 2024 Test Drive – Scheduled the test drive at the Torrance, California Vinfast Location and Christian Bustamante was smart and on point with all my questions. The ECO was not to my liking as it did not have a sunroof but was still a good car but the VF8 PLUS City Edition was more to my liking and so I placed the order.. The process was simple as I only needed to enter some brief information and put down $200 deposit.
- During the time waiting for delivery I want to point out that Vinfast Sales Rep Christian Bustamante was communicative and very helpful in all aspects of my texts and phone calls leading up to the delivery.
August 23rd, 2024 – Received an email from Christian Bustamante telling me that I can get a good deal on a 2023 Vinfast ECO ($149 per month) or PLUS ($199 per month) with $0.0 Down Payment – ( What a deal)
